Family photo editing, September 2022

In September 2022, my uncle Mark, aunt Joy, and grandfather Lee (who we can Grandad) visited Colorado. We were over at my mom’s (Lori’s) house, and my mom wanted to get a group photo. We didn’t have a tripod, just phone cameras, so we were not able to get everyone in the photo at once. Mark and I were the ones taking pictures so we were never in the same picture. We used a post to try to get all the photos at the same angle. Here’s Mark setting up (and wondering why I’m taking this pic):

Here a couple of the photos we ended up taking:

Since there were no photo with both Mark and I in the same photo, I thought it would be fun to stitch two photos together. I’m most familiar with the graphic manipulation application called Gimp, so all the edits are done with Gimp (think of it as a free open source alternative to PhotoShop). I used the two photos posted above. For the final edit, my mom, son Lee and Mark would be from one photo, and everyone else would be from the other photo.

While I was at it, I removed the boring background (side of a house) and add some other backgrounds for fun. Two of the backgrounds are from photos taken by me (Lassen Park in California and Lake Dowdy in Colorado). The rest are random pics off the Internet. My brothers will appreciate the one with Broncos stadium in the background. They’re wearing their favorite team’s logo in that one.
